The island of Amorgos is the most easterly of the Cycladic islands in the Aegean Sea lying between Naxos and Astypalia. Its picturesque villages, clean beaches, crystal waters, palm trees and calm vibe will amaze you. It is off the regular path of most tourists and package tours, which has enabled it to maintain its unspoiled, traditional atmosphere, making it a unique and unforgettable place to visit.
It is the island that was chosen by filmmaker Luc Besson to shoot the movie “The Big Blue”. The island’s trademark is the famous 1,000 year old Byzantine Monastery of Chozoviotissa which is wedged into a huge precipice soaring 300m on a cliff face above the sea.
This beautiful island has plenty to offer and is suitable to visit at all times of the year having mild winters, a mass of flowers and herbs awakening the senses during the spring months and lots of sunshine.
Aegialis Hotel & Spa has 50 rooms and suites all with balcony or terrace overlooking the spectacular bay of Aegialis. The hotel is open throughout the year giving winter visitors the added benefit of using the Lalon Idor Spa. The spa offers an indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and gym plus relaxation and refreshment areas. Massages and treatments on offer for both men and ladies make use of the local Amorgian herbs wherever appropriate and there is also an excellent hairdressing salon.
